Sinus Lift Surgery

Your Smile is Our Success!

Sinus Lift

The maxillary sinuses are situated above the posterior teeth in your upper jaw, and when molars are absent, natural bone resorption can cause the sinus cavity to expand. To address this issue, sinus lift surgery, also known as sinus augmentation, can be performed to add bone to the region of your premolars and molars in the upper jaw. The bone is positioned between the maxillary sinuses, which are located on either side of your nasal cavity, and your jaw. In order to make space for the bone, the sinus membrane is surgically elevated. Our clinic, Eastvale Dentistry, offers sinus lift surgery as a treatment option for our patients.

What Is a Sinus Lift?

A sinus lift (also called sinus augmentation) is a surgical procedure that adds bone to the upper jaw in the area of your molars and premolars, just below the sinuses. This procedure lifts the sinus membrane upward to create space for bone grafting, allowing future dental implants to anchor securely in place.

It’s a common and highly effective technique for patients who’ve experienced bone loss or natural anatomical limitations in the upper jaw.

How the Sinus Lift Procedure Works

Here’s what to expect during your sinus lift at Eastvale Dentistry:

  1. Consultation & Imaging – We review your medical and dental history and take precise x-rays or a 3D CBCT scan.
  2. Surgical Procedure – Under local anesthesia (with optional sedation), we make a small opening in the upper jaw and gently lift the sinus membrane. Bone graft material is placed into the new space.
  3. Healing Phase – Over the next 4–9 months, the graft material integrates with your jawbone.
  4. Dental Implant Placement – Once the new bone is strong enough, we proceed with placing your dental implant.

Each case is tailored to your unique anatomy and goals.
